Memphis International Airport showcases city

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — A picturesque scene of the Memphis skyline now greets people arriving at Memphis International Airport.

An 8 1/2-foot-tall, 82-foot-long panorama is part of the Memphis Corporate Showcase, an effort to highlight top corporations while generating cash to keep airport user fees low.

Planned and executed entirely by Airport Authority employees, it's basically custom-printed wallpaper that depicts downtown Memphis at night from the Arkansas bank of the river. It shows the M-shaped Hernando DeSoto Bridge and Pyramid arena on the left and stretches to Tom Lee Park on the right…(full story)
