The Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority is governed by a seven-member Board of Commissioners, all of whom are appointed by the City of Memphis Mayor, of which two are nominated by the Mayor of Shelby County.  All are confirmed by the City Council for seven-year terms. 

Members must be qualified community leaders in one of the following fields:  Aviation, Engineering, Law, Industry or Finance.
